A Day of Plants
This week I visited the Atlanta Botanical Gardens for the second time this year. It was a gorgeous fall day and two friends and I ooooh and aaaahed over so many plants. One of our favorites was the Princess Flower. The flower itself was tall and purple and quite impressive, but the green leaves really surprised us - large leaves divided into clear sections and a tad bit furry. The day was a great break in an otherwise busy schedule.
I'm finishing up two picture books this week. What a wonderful feeling! Starting a new writing project soon which will get my energy pumping. In the meantime, I will be speaking at WIK '11 for Southern Breeze (SCBWI) in Birmingham in the middle of the month. So, between all of that and a couple of school visits each week, my office floor is piled high with all kinds of books and papers. From chaos comes order. Right? I hope so.

Can't wait to see you in Birmingham! And, yes, from YOUR chaos comes order anyway.... ;0)
