Manuscript Coaching: Improving the Quality of Your Picture Book Manuscript
If you have written a picture book (100-800 words) or an easy reader (60-800 words) and you are having difficulty with the revision process, you might be interested in manuscript coaching. I offer three different models. You can decide how much intense assistance you would like and then sign-up for the coaching service that best meets your needs.

Two Coaching Sessions: I will read your manuscript twice – at two different levels of development - and give it careful consideration. Each time I will send you a lengthy email outlining the strengths and weaknesses with suggestions for improvement. I will be assessing your writing on these criteria:
original or marketable idea
pacing
cadence
word choice
show, don’t tell
character development (if it is a character-driven story)
plot development (if it is a character-driven story)
leads and endings
age appropriateness
concept development (if a concept book)
voice and tone
Cost is $300.

Three Coaching Sessions: I will read your manuscript three times – at three different levels of development - and give it careful consideration. Each time I will send you a lengthy email outlining the strengths and weaknesses with suggestions for improvement. We will also schedule a 30 minute telephone conversation to thoroughly discuss any considerations that you may have. I will be assessing your writing on the criteria listed above in the Two Coaching Session model.
Cost is $500

Five Coaching Sessions: I will read your manuscript five times – at five different levels of development - and give it careful consideration. Each time I will send you a lengthy email outlining the strengths and weaknesses with suggestions for improvement. We will also schedule at any point in the process a 20 minute telephone conversation to thoroughly discuss your considerations. In addition, I will meet you face-to-face in Alpharetta, GA for a 45 minute critique and conversation where we can reference your text directly. I will be assessing your writing on the criteria listed above in the Two Coaching Session model.
Cost is $800
