Day Seven - The End
Geez, I was going to take a picture of the kids all packed up and headed home, but I forgot.
On the last day at horse camp, Leah and the other campers played all kinds of games on the horses. She really had a great time and wants to learn more about riding and horses in the months to come. Thank you, Barbara and Julia, for such a great experience.
Spencer launched his rockets again using even larger engines. The good news is that his first rocket went higher and higher and higher than the night before. The bad news is that the surface air and the air at 1500 feet were going in two different directions, so the rocket drifted away into tree tops. The second rocket launched great, went high, but the chute did not open. It came down, hit a branch on the way and received a little damage. Don't worry, Spencer, I saw Uncle Ted on the Estes website tonight looking at new rockets that you two can purchase, build and launch.
After lunch we packed up and loaded our two hearty campers into the car with all of their gear and goodies. On the way to their home we read ten chapters and finished our mystery book. In fact, I read the last words as we pulled into their driveway. Perfect timing.
I've heard that the kids are now energized. Ted and I are catching our breath, but I think I can safely say that all four of us are looking forward to next year's CAMP SCHAEFER. HOORAY!
